We have chickens!

We finally got chickens. What an adventure this has been. We started with 6 that we bought as baby chicks from Rural King! I absolutely love this store! Then. 2 weeks later we bought 6 more. They were so cute. We had to keep them in the house in a plastic tote…craziness since our house is tiny! Then we moved them to a coop outside that we actually built for rabbits, but since we didn’t have rabbits yet, and still don’t, we decided we would use it to house the chickens. Finally, we were able to get an actual coop. The past of our new church had an old coop that we once used for ducks. With the help of a friend, we borrowed a trailer, picked up this huge coop, brought it home and with a little reconstruction….we had a coop for our 12 chickens. It is hard to believe that back in august these chickens were babies. We can’t wait to start getting eggs in the spring.
